Royal Caribbean has revealed the name of its next record-breaking ship, and it’s a fitting one. Legend of the Seas will become the third vessel in the brand’s Icon Class—the largest cruise ships ever built—continuing the momentum set by the revolutionary Icon of the Seas and upcoming Star of the Seas.
The Legend is set to make its debut in August 2026, offering a limited run of Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale in November. From there, it will sail year-round Caribbean itineraries, including 6-night getaways to the Western Caribbean and 8-night adventures through the Southern Caribbean. Every sailing will include a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Like its sister ships, Legend of the Seas is being constructed at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, where it joins a growing fleet of Icon Class vessels. While full specs haven’t been released, the previous ships in the series offer a clear preview: Icon of the Seas comes in at 250,800 gross tons, measures 1,198 feet in length, and can host 5,610 guests at double occupancy, or up to 7,600 at maximum capacity.
Pricing for Caribbean sailings aboard Legend starts at $895 per person for a 3-night cruise and $1,346 for a 5-night Western Caribbean itinerary with a stop at Perfect Day. Bookings officially open to the public on Thursday, February 20, with early access granted to members of the Crown & Anchor Society.
While Royal Caribbean hasn’t shared all the onboard details just yet, Legend of the Seas is expected to carry forward the Icon Class signatures that have redefined what’s possible at sea. That includes:

- Crown’s Edge, a heart-pounding combination of skywalk, ropes course, and thrill ride.
- Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, featuring six slides and the first open freefall slide on a cruise ship.
- FlowRider, a 40-foot surf simulator that’s become a Royal Caribbean staple.
- Seven pools and 10 whirlpools, from the lively Swim & Tonic swim-up bar to the serene, adults-only Hideaway infinity pool suspended over the ocean.
- Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, built for relaxation and fun at any pace.
- AquaTheater, complete with a 55-foot waterfall and world-class diving performances.
- Surfside, a family-focused neighborhood built around play, convenience, and the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.
- A range of dining and bar concepts, including Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and Izumi Hibachi & Sushi.
The ship will also be Royal Caribbean’s fourth LNG-powered vessel, part of the company’s continued investment in cleaner, more efficient energy sources at sea.
With Icon already making waves, and Star following close behind, Legend of the Seas is poised to become the next must-sail ship for those chasing the biggest, boldest cruise experiences anywhere on the ocean.
